Child Abuse Division
The Child Abuse Division is responsible for the prosecution of criminal
offenses involving the sexual or physical abuse of children, including
child deaths. Cases prosecuted by the division generally involve
children younger than 14, and include: aggravated sexual assault,
indecency with a child, indecent exposure to a child, injury to a
child, and capital murder.
The Child Abuse Division team of 14 prosecutors, 12 investigators and five support staff work closely with victims and their families, law enforcement, Child Protective Services, the Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center, Children’s Medical Center, therapists and family counselors, and other state and local agencies, to ensure justice is served.
