The Dallas County Criminal District Attorney’s (DA) Office has a Public Information Officer (PIO) on staff that is available to media 24 hours a day.  Certain public information on disposed and pending criminal cases handled by the DA’s Office is accessible to the media and the general public through written Public Information Act (PIA) requests.

 

Media Policy

The District Attorney’s Office does not comment on pending cases.  Requests for interviews with prosecutors or investigators from the District Attorney’s Office must be submitted to the Public Information Officer (PIO).  In addition, requests for copies of indictments and/or affidavits for arrest warrants can be made at the Intake window at the DA’s Office on the 11th Floor at the Frank Crowley Courts Building.  PIA requests may also be submitted via e-mail to the PIO’s e-mail address.  We understand the media’s deadlines and will do our best to ensure you get the requested information in a timely manner.  In accordance with the Public Information Act, the District Attorney’s Office has 10 business days from the date the PIA request is received to respond.

 

Additionally, professionals and students wishing to record (video or audio) or photograph any personnel or property on the premises of the District Attorney’s Office for special projects i.e. documentaries or television programs, must submit a written request to the PIO.

There are parking spaces designated for the press in the adjacent self-pay parking garage on Justice Center Drive, just off Industrial Blvd.  Please note that the DA’s Office is unable to validate parking.  For security purposes, we ask media to wear visible credentials whenever on-site at the District Attorney’s Office.
